I started Prairie Vintage Finds on Etsy in October 2013. I have always loved old things; especially old useful things. I'm not sure how I caught the bug. Maybe I caught it growing up on a farm with an old red barn out back that was filled with forgotten items. Inside that barn were all kinds of interesting things from the days when farmers used horses to work the fields. Maybe I caught the bug from my Granddaddy who had an antiques store on his front porch and would occasionally take me to local flea markets or give me a treasure from one of his recent estate auction purchases. Of course it could have been my Dad who was also fond of estate auctions and antiques and refinishing furniture. Wherever I picked it up it has been with me since I can remember and I still like the hunt and finding things that speak to me. Even better is sending an item off to its new home knowing that although it has been tucked away for years it is now being offered a new opportunity to be treasured. When I'm out hunting up new treasures I'm particularly drawn to items that were useful in the past and still have a lot of use ahead of them. And if they look like they belong on the farm....even better.
